CSS Framework Project – United Kingdom

The County Surveyor’s Society commissioned Opus UK to develop guidance to highway authorities embarking on developing asset management plans through a framework for managing highway infrastructure.  This was a pioneering document in the UK which focuses on long term strategic planning as a cornerstone of highway network management to maximise efficiency, add value and improve services in a customer focused way.
The framework has triggered much interest and activity in the UK highway market and has been a catalyst for delivering government targets for efficiency savings in excess of 2½% (£8,000,000) per annum.

Newcastle City - Highway Asset Management Plan, United Kingdom

Opus worked with Newcastle City Council for a number of years to develop and implement a Highway Asset Management Plan for the council. This work involved close liaison between the two parties and created a mutually trusting and respectful partnership.

Conwy County Borough Council, Highway Asset Management Plan, United Kingdom

Opus worked in-house at Conwy County Borough Council to assist in the production of the council's first Highway Asset Management Plan. The initial plan was developed within a short timescale to meet the requirements of the council.  Since its production, in early 2006, Opus has been retained as a trusted advisor and leader for the implementation of the improvement actions, identified within the plan.
