Traffic Engineering

Opus’ traffic engineering specialists provide effective transportation design and solutions through evaluation and assessment of the existing situation, providing outputs of the available improvements that focus on the mitigation of impacts and risk.  This supports a range of infrastructure projects including educational, institutional, commercial, industrial and transportation related areas which highlights the diversity of our experience in this field.

We have experts in traffic engineering within New Zealand, Australia, Canada and the UK who have delivered many major transportation infrastructure projects.  These projects have included motorway, arterial and local road improvements together with public transport and travel demand management initiatives.

The skills range from the effective design of new intersections and associated infrastructure, to the review and auditing of existing installations, and proposals for upgrade and improvement.

Specialist design services for Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), public transport, cycling, pedestrian and traffic signal operations are available, based upon close collaboration of our transportation planning and modelling teams.

The range of services provided by the group includes:

  • Transport assessments
  • Traffic and parking management
  • Public transport services
  • Bus priority studies
  • Walking and cycling
