Heritage

Opus’ approach to conservation is one of sympathetic repair utilising, wherever possible, traditional construction methods and materials. When necessary, we use modern techniques effectively in an unobtrusive manner to ensure the future life of the element or structure as a whole.

We have an extensive library of expertise covering all areas of building conservation and repair, from medieval timber frames through to contemporary reinforced concrete, building pathology and diagnosis, traditional construction handbooks and historical standards.

Our conservation team regularly attend courses and lectures provided by The Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings, The Institution of Structural Engineers, The Institution of Civil Engineers, The Institute of Historic Building Conservation and The Lime Forum, as well as many other trade organisations.
