  • Len Johnson, Senior Engineer, Rossett, United Kingdom

Len is a core team member of the Bridges team and currently manages the important Bridgegaurd III Framework for Network Rail. Through 2009, Len completed two periods of secondment in the Fredericton office showing great commitment in assisting with their highways scheme for New Brunswick Department of Transportation.

The first period came with little prior warning, but Len took the situation in his stride and was very quickly recognised by the Fredericton team as someone with excellent service delivery.  Len completed further works from his Rossett base and took part in teleconferences with the Fredericton office and the client.

  • Wayne Hatcher, Technical Principal, Pavement Management Systems, Napier, New Zealand

During 2009 Wayne devoted himself to the task of preparing a major bid and through his diligent efforts successfully helped Opus grow the scope of involvement in the project.

Wayne has earned the respect of the partners for his technical knowledge, his strong work ethic in the bidding process and his positive attitude and participation in developing the team required in pulling together this complex relationship based project.

  • Brent Morgan, Business Manager, Blenheim, New Zealand

Brent has great technical knowledge and understanding of Transportation Development work. Last year Brent used that knowledge by committing to be part of the team that delivered two outstanding bids. One for the New Plymouth District Council  (NPDC) and one for the South Taranaki District Council. The NPDC bid was successful and he then spent at least two days a week for eight weeks in New Plymouth acting as the Transition Manager and ensured the smooth take up of duties under the professional services contract.

Brent committed himself to being a major part of both bids and also the start up of the new contract. He was away from his family and his team in Blenheim for two days a week for a number of months helping with the bids and to set the new contract up. During that time he maintained the performance of the Blenheim office.

His understanding of Transportation Asset Management was transferred into methodology of both bids and also into the Quality Plan for the new network contract.

  • Eric Moroney, Project Manager, Napier, New Zealand

Eric is one of Opus' key staff in the delivery of projects to the Department of Corrections. He is regarded highly by all their project staff he deals with. Eric's positive can do attitude combined with his ability to question and challenge is a real strength.

Despite an already heavy workload and high commitment to travel, Eric willingly got involved as one of the company's three design team leaders on the Prison Bunking project followed by the Opus site representative on two of the four Prison Project sites. This has meant a significant amount of time away from home, five full weeks initially and then a pattern of three or four days since July. This large workload and travel leads to many long hours of work.

Eric is known for his personal commitment and excellent strong client relationships.  Clients recognise his energy and commitment, and his ability to project manage Opus teams.
