Opus were the sponsors of the Services Exporter of the Year Award, part of the ANZ Wellington Export Awards.  The award was presented to New Zealand Translation Centre International by Managing Director, Dr Kevin Thompson.

"Minister, Your Worship the Mayor, ladies and gentlemen - it gives me great pleasure to be  here this evening to present the inaugural 2007 Opus International Consultants Services Exporter of the Year Award.

Many of you will be aware that Opus International Consultants was the winner last year of both the New Zealand Trade and Enterprise DHL Services Exporter of the Year Award and the Supreme Exporter of the Year Award.

As you have just seen in the video, Opus is an international multi-disciplinary infrastructure consultancy firm providing asset development and asset management solutions for physical infrastructure in the fields of engineering, architecture, planning and property management.

Our revenue exceeded - one quarter of a billion dollars last year, and we employ round 2200 people in a range of professional roles.  We are the largest infrastructure consultancy in New Zealand with 37 offices around the country.  We believe in working locally with our numerous clients.

We have over the last five-years ‘exported’ our services and our local business model concept and now have around 33 offices  in Australia, Canada and the UK.

All this positions us as leader in our field of expertise.  As our company expands and moves forward around the world we will be seeking to increase the number of offices and continue to provide innovative solutions for our clients.

Our export model is based on replicating the successes we’ve had in New Zealand - with our strategy of local offices servicing local clients.  This has been pivotal to our success to date and remains as one of our key drivers as we move forward with continued growth.

As a successful exporter we wanted to be tonight to support and celebrate others excellence in exporting.
