We are thrilled to announce that this year, Opus is a finalist in several categories at the Constructing Excellence in Wales (CEW) Awards, with the awards ceremony set for July 14th at Celtic Manor in Newport.
Opus’ supportive culture is clearly reflected in this year’s shortlisting, with our Learning and Development initiatives recognised in the People Development category. Matthew Le Masurier and Gillian Steele are both finalists in the Young Achiever category. We wish Matthew and Gillian the very best of luck!
Congratulations should also go to our client, Interserve Construction, whom we worked with on the Dyfatty High-Rise project to refurbish a 1960s block of flats in Swansea and which is shortlisted in the category for Integration and Collaborative Working.
We have heard that there were 134 entries this year, so it’s a great achievement to gain this initial recognition.
We’re delighted to be a finalist in the category ‘Best Place to Work’ at the 2017 NCE100 Companies of the Year Awards. Feedback gathered through NCE’s staff survey was crucial in this shortlisting, providing evidence from our employees to support our submission.
Congratulations to Gillian Steele, our Graduate Geotechnical Engineer, who has fought off tough competition to be awarded 2nd place out of the "super six" finalist in the prestigious New Civil Engineer Graduate Awards 2016.

Opus International Consultant (Opus), in collaboration with Fairhursts Design Group and the University of Nottingham, scooped the prestigious national award for “Best Sustainable Building on a Brownfield Site” at the Brownfield Briefing Awards, for work at the University of Nottingham’s GlaxoSmithKline Carbon Neutral Laboratory for Sustainable Chemistry.

Following on from Opus’ success last month in the Green Apple awards, we are proud to announce another award win for Mumbles Pier refurbishment and new RNLI Lifeboat Station. The Institution of Civil Engineers South East England Awards 2015 “Designed in the South East” was presented to Opus, beating off stiff competition from Network Rail’s “AssetCoast”, the much publicised wreck removal of the Costa Concordia and the London Gateway Port in the finals.
Opus is delighted to have won another award for Leadership & People Development held on the 17 July in York. It was awarded by Constructing Excellence South Yorkshire & Humber. In under a year, this is the third award Opus has won for people development.
A scheme being designed by Opus International Consultants (Opus) for the Royal National Lifeboat Institute (RNLI) has been shortlisted in the British Construction Industry Awards in the category, BIM project application.
