Opus International Consultants (Opus) has been appointed by the National Procurement Service (NPS) onto their Phase 3 Framework for Additional Services - Geotechnical. Work will be carried out by the Cardiff and Wrexham offices, and follows previous successful wins with the NPS on both the Phase 1 (Structures) and Phase 2 (Infrastructure) Frameworks. Opus is now the only consultancy providing multi-disciplinary, structural, civils, highways, traffic and transportation, and geotechnical services for all price bands in every region of Wales.

The Framework is open to public bodies in Wales including central and local government, emergency services, health trusts and further education institutions. Work will relate to buildings and infrastructure development including schools, hospitals, retail developments, highways and rail.

The Framework means that Opus’ work will assist in the promotion of local economic regeneration. Already, Opus has worked on two school redevelopment schemes through the NPS Framework: Tonyrefail Comprehensive School Redevelopment and Treorchy Secondary School Redevelopment, and provided the replacement of LINAC 2 at Velindre Cancer Centre in Cardiff.

Dafydd Lloyd, Cardiff Office Director, said: “Our continued success in getting onto the NPS Frameworks not only further enhances the Opus brand as a major player in the Welsh marketplace but also means we can support local communities in Wales by providing best value in service delivery.”
