Opus International Consultants (Opus) has been appointed on a framework with Wessex Water, a water and sewage treatment business serving the south west of England, supplying drinking water to 1.3 million customers and sewerage services to some 2.7 million customers.

The framework will see Opus delivering minor and reactive design services on Wessex Water’s distribution network which includes 110 water treatment plants, 340 service reservoirs and water towers, over 200 pumping stations and just over 11,500km of water main. Their much larger sewerage system comprises 405 treatment plants, 1,515 pumping stations and more than 30,000km of sewers.

Potential projects would include design relating to assets and infrastructure, emergency engineering assistance, structural condition surveys for repair and maintenance, and specialist structural and geotechnical design.

Huw Edwards (UK Managing Director) said: “We are delighted to be on this framework, where we can provide high-level expertise to ensure that Wessex Water can continue to deliver to their customers, and we can further develop our portfolio of work in the Water sector.”
