Structural engineering can be found across all areas of Opus, highlighting the diversity of our experience in this field.

We have experts in building design across New Zealand, Australia and the UK and have been part of many landmark and award winning projects. Other areas of expertise include telecommunications where we have an enormous amount of experience in tower design, earthquake engineering where we have been responsible for the seismic upgrade of structures across New Zealand for various clients, marine structures for which we have teams in UK and New Zealand, and the design of structures in extreme environments where we have designed Antarctic facilities at Scott Base. Opus’ civil structures design experience is also significant, having designed many water treatment facilities in New Zealand and UK.

Canada Water Underground Station, United Kingdom

The extension to London Underground’s Jubilee Line provides improved access for London’s West End/Docklands/North East corridor and assisted in the regeneration of parts of East London and Docklands.  Opus within a joint venture “Benaim-Works” was responsible for the design of Canada Water Underground Station.

The Auto Technium Business Innovation Centre in Llanelli provides space for 18 small enterprises and research companies, which are directly linked to Swansea University and to the motor industry

Structural Services, Hampshire County Council, United Kingdom

Opus has been providing Hampshire County Council with structural engineering services for over ten years. 
The work involves structural design for schools and County Council buildings, inspections and assessments of existing buildings, design and specification of structural repairs as well as advice on structural matters including historic and temporary buildings. 

Llandough Hospital Orthopaedic Unit, Llandough, United Kingdom

The £10million Orthopaedic Unit at Llandough Hospital was designed by Opus to cater for more than 4,000 operations a year.  The building consists of two storeys with further accommodation which includes the M&E plant room at the part third level.
